The carbon dioxide pipeline booster pump developed by Longgang Pump Industry plays a core role in the transportation and boosting links in the CCUS (carbon capture, utilization and storage) project. Liquid carbon dioxide medium has special properties such as easy gasification, poor lubricity, and low temperature. The company’s technical team has overcome a series of technical difficulties, including carbon dioxide pipeline flow assurance, safety control technology, and operation and maintenance technology based on phase control. Through in-depth system dynamics analysis and key structural optimization design, the company innovatively adopted a self-balancing structure and a mosaic honeycomb mouth ring structure, and developed a centrifugal pump overpressure adaptive system and a new thermal expansion seal protector, which effectively solved the challenges of equipment working stability, efficiency, cavitation performance and service life.
